Cesium provides high-precision (WGS84) geospatial world data and imagery for applications. Nominal Editor makes use of the newly implemented Unreal Engine 4 integration that allows the Earth to be visualised in fantastic quality, with heightmaps and real terrain data. Currently, Cesium is free for Unreal. However, it is likely sometime in the future this will change on a user basis.

Creating an Account

Cesium Ion allows users to use geospatial data within the Unreal Engine. Cesium offers a range of Earth mapping data sources which can be managed within your online Cesium account. Your Earth geospatial data can be synced between Nominal Editor and Cesium using the Cesium Plugin for the Unreal Engine. Therefore, to use full power of Cesium within the Unreal Engine, create a Cesium Ion account here. More information about Cesium for Unreal Engine can be found here.

Nominal Cesium

As of version 0.9, Cesium is fully implemented with the Universe System and no longer has issues regarding rotating spacecraft incorrectly or invalid sun placement. The Cesium world can be interchanged with a model world with ease and without simulation differences.
